Frozen Details

Posted in Rosedale the locale on January 17, 2012 by KateJones

A muddy footprint reveals the pattern and detail of the tread. It was very cold on Sundays walk !

Monday Morning Sky

Posted in Rosedale the locale on January 9, 2012 by KateJones

Yep, another sky picture, I make no apology, the early morning light and colours were spectacular. Had to stop myself ringing all the neighbours to look, managed to control myself and just called one or two folks !

The white rose in bloom outside the studio is an unusual but welcome sight at new year.

Camera Shy Blackbird

Posted in Rosedale the locale on December 12, 2011 by KateJones

Almost got him on film. We were making glass and watching a beautiful blackbird feasting on the winter berries outside the studio. I like the snap even though his form is obscured by the busy layers of growth and bright fruits. Maybe its time for a faster camera.

Novembers First Frost

Brrrrr but beautiful. The light this morning was stunning, the frost thick and crisp.

Last Fruits of Summer

Posted in Rosedale the locale on November 23, 2011 by KateJones

I can see this tree from the studio window. It looks beautiful with balls of bright yellow laid bare by autumns fall. Not long to go now before the hard frosts of winter see the apples to the ground to keep the birds fed in the coming months.

Mape Leaf – Elemental Beauty

Posted in Rosedale the locale on November 18, 2011 by KateJones

The elemental beauty of our location profoundly influences the designs and forms of our work. Its very evident in this Field Maple Leaf design. The bursting hedgerows of bright yellow leaves are beautiful to see and it’s not long now before they fall.

Cattle Drive

Posted in Rosedale the locale on November 16, 2011 by KateJones

These expectant ladies were moved from summer grazing to Yatts Farm for the winter. Amazing how large the beasts are when on the road and not in a field. Very pleased to be given notice of the impending drive and could then shut all the studio doors in preparation !
