Commissions: Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum has commissioned Gillies Jones to make one of their technically challenging works to add to one of the world's finest collections of glass which dates from 2000BC to the present. The piece will be joining the contemporary collection in the new Glass Gallery 2, an additional space, dedicated to contemporary work and designed to accommodate the Museums spectacular Collection of glass.

The V&A's first Glass Gallery was opened in 1994 to critical acclaim displaying over 8000 objects - making the Collection unique in the UK and one of the best in the World.
