The Cuckoo Flower Limited Edition Bowl

May 15, 2014

Cuckoo Flower Bowl
Limited Edition of 50 Bowls
Made to order in a colour of your choice, this bowl features the spring cuckoo flower, so named because it flowers as the cuckoo calls.
It’s a delicate pinky-white-to-lilac flower, now abundant in Rosedale as the verges, now designated wildlife corridors by the North York Moors National Park, are left uncut.
The variety of wild flowers is increasing each year and they’re becoming easier to spot in the wild verges.

All the wild flowers are exquisite and delicate, an essence we hope this bowl captures.

To order a bowl give us a call on 01751 417550 or email studio@gilliesjonesglass.co.uk

Chase at the RCA Tonight !

November 10, 2011

We have sent 5 Graal Goblets for tonight’s event.

The Exhibition

The Shooting Star CHASE exhibition, which encompasses contemporary painting, sculpture and glass, has been going for ten years and raises, in one evening, up to UKP100,000 for Shooting Star CHASE. The exhibition takes place in the ground floor gallery of the Royal College of Art in London (Kensington Gore, next to the Albert Hall). It is on the evening of Thursday 10th November (starting at 7pm). Tickets are £65 which includes  champagne and canapés.

This is a great opportunity to buy art from leading contemporary British artists, both representational and abstract. Prices range from £100 to £5,000+. The artists receive the normal price for their work and Shooting Star CHASE receives the “gallery” commission.

Glass Section

As usual glass section will be there and as always we have wonderful UK Glass artists:
Julie Coakley, Katharine Coleman*, Matt Durran, Sally Fawkes*, Sara Fell , Gillies Jones, Richard Jackson*, Monette Larsen , Charlie Macpherson , James Maskrey, Amanda Notarianni , Ronald Pennell , Mark Raynes Roberts, David Reekie, Colin Reid , Victoria Scholes,  Louis Thompson and Sarah Wiberley.
* Katharine, Rik and Sal will be there on the night to help as they have so generously been for the last 10 years.

Last year we had a bumper year selling half of the glass (almost unheard of in any gallery). As this is likely to be our last year of selling glass, do come and support us and see if we can outdo last year’s record performance. I hope that you will come and support Shooting Star CHASE. We would be delighted to see you there.

Booking

You will find an invitation and application/donation form attached. Pls note that you can also pay for your tickets on line at www.shootingstarchase.org.uk/artexhibition. Otherwise the Application form should be sent as directed on it, but if you want further information, feel free to contact me. Please also pass the information on to anyone else that you think might be interested.
