Rosedale’s Weather’s Turned

November 30, 2017

Brrrrrrr, suddenly it’s winter in the Moors. The snow ploughs are out, the abundant red berries have been striped from the Holly trees, and all is quiet and very cold. Love winter……

River Freezing Over !

January 17, 2013

Not something I’ve seen much of before in Rosedale. The bank is thick with icicles in places and the river is beginning to freeze over.

Dug out and Open !

November 29, 2010

Winter is truly here and our winter opening hours are upon us.

We will still be working in the studio and using the winter months creatively, (best time of year to blow glass)  and we are open by appointment from 1st Dec until 1st March. Give us a call on 01751 417550 to arrange to visit and of course, the main road to Pickering in pretty much always passable, the moor roads are most often closed… safe journeys.

Sundays Walk

February 1, 2010

Fresh snow on the grounds, signs of spring… the first snow drops and Avas shadow hand wanting to pick them…  down by the river , many animal tracks and ice hanging from branches that touch the rivers surface. VV cold, vv beautiful.

let it snow ………..

January 5, 2010

Pics of a New Years Day walk and images  of the studio showing just how beautiful and  cold it is. I know this is turning into a weather blog again, but still the novelty of walking out to enjoy proper weather, stunning contrasts in light &  landscape, making good food and keeping warm by an open fire….. well its a feast for the eyes and soul.

Still Snowing / Happy new year !

January 4, 2010

Yep, still snowing, still icicles, still sledging, still making stews, still putting another log on…. still taking pictures…. still trying to stop playing in the snow and start playing at work again. The time is nearly right, as the deadlines for some great shows loom large.
